Documentary. A short documentary of a day of a life of kids. These are my two smallest siblings, and I chose to base my documentary off of them. I find children amusing because they don't try. The most challenging thing about this project was just trying to catch these little moments because they're everywhere. Shooting this way did not change the way I take photographs, it just seemed harder. I like shooting posed, and candid it doesn't really matter. They're very natural, and I admire taking natural photos. I snapped a picture every time they did something different which was interesting because they never stop moving. It all started from when they were asleep, and it ended with movies and toys. Some compositional techniques I used included close ups, leading lines, angles, and rule of thirds. I tried to use different techniques in each photo, which I think was pretty successful. I think I could have cropped the photos better than I did, and maybe I could have taken some posed photos. The overall mood for this project is happy, and natural. I enjoyed doing this project because I love my siblings, and they entertain me even when they aren't trying.
I think the value of Humans Of NV is seeing everyone's different aspects of life, and how each person is very different. Also the value is how others feel about certain things, and the different moods that follows behind them. It can help different people because others will bounce off of other peoples photos which will inspire them. Photography creates empathy by reaching and digging into an emotional state of another individual. All of the stories stand out because they are so different and creative. I enjoyed reading all of the different ones. I found it surprising how little the responses were. People are very outgoing here, and their response were very short.
